Often the best time to photograph landscapes is at either end of the day - dawn or dusk. Usually you are at a location with a few others, you shooting photos and them doing their thing, wether it be surfing, walking, etc. Last weekend at Snapper Rocks, I enjoyed sharing dawn with a didgeridoo player. Occasionally it is great to get away with a few mates and get upto some shenanigans. Peel Island sits about 6km off the mainland near where I live on the southern bayside of Brisbane. Despite being a historic leper colony, Peel Island's Horseshoe Bay is arguably one of Brisbane's/ Moreton Bay's best beaches. Back in November last year I had an opportunity to be up in Bowen to shoot the opening of the Bowen foreshore (photos to come shortly). On the following morning, prior to flying back to Brisbane, I managed to get out to shoot a few landscapes of the rugged yet striking coastline - what an unbelievable place.

As a part of my day job I have been doing the artwork for the front cover of the Queensland Planner journal for the past few years. I was able to work smart, and use one of the images taken for another job from the other day. I will post some more of the covers sometime soon.
