Peel Island - 22 Jan 2010

Peel Island sits about 6km off the mainland near where I live on the southern bayside of Brisbane. Despite being a historic leper colony, Peel Island's Horseshoe Bay is arguably one of Brisbane's/ Moreton Bay's best beaches. An Last Weekend I went camping over there with a youth group I am involved with. The sunset was something else.

Point Danger & Too Much Meat

Point Danger sits pretty close to the border of NSW and Queensland. We were holidaying close by for my brother in law's birthday. The previous night we went out for dinner and my brother in law's and I took on the 1kg steak challenge at Outback Jacks - not recommended.

I didn't sleep at all - I felt like a boa constrictor trying to digest a small animal. I decided to get up early for a surf to work of the indigestion, unfortunately the surf was pretty small, so I pulled out the camera to shoot some landscapes.

Perhaps the sore stomach and a bad nights sleep from an lump of steak too large for safe human consumption was worth it after all.

Bowen Landscapes

Back in November last year I had an opportunity to be up in Bowen to shoot the opening of the Bowen foreshore (photos to come shortly). On the following morning, prior to flying back to Brisbane, I managed to get out to shoot a few landscapes of the rugged yet striking coastline - what an unbelievable place.
